RESPONSIBLE TOURING

At Takavada African Safaris, we endeavor to participate at all levels in sustainable tourism.  In line with this, our way of travel aims to respect and benefit the destinations we go to, their people, cultures and environment.

●      We take pride in our small group sizes which aim to minimize our impact on our precious destinations.

●      Our trips avoid activities that exploit or mistreat animals and humans in any form.

●      We promote local businesses especially at the community level by purchasing fresh produce from local markets, buying locally made art and crafts and wherever possible eating in local restaurants.

●      We encourage clients to:

o       Learn and respect as much about the visited countries, their religions, values, customs, rules, and also to practice communicating with hosts at basic levels in their own language.

o       Pay attention to appropriate behavior, dress codes and body gestures.

o       Ask for host permission before taking photos and offer to send copies if possible.

o       Minimize energy use, emissions and water loss at all times.

o       We also encourage our clients to participate in sustainable tourism projects in the destinations we visit.

We believe that by taking these few steps we can experience more and impact less.
